Whidbey Island

Yesterday I packed my four cousins into my car and brought them home to Oak Harbor. It was nice to stay for a short visit and connect again with my Auntie Shawna. We took a long walk, went to a thrift shop (where I found a couple new GAP shirts for a couple bucks each), watched the new National Treasure movie, and went to the church* they are now attending.

*Uncle Kurt and Auntie Shawna's new church is called Living Word Foursquare Church. It was really neat... they had a coffee shop right outside their sanctuary. Today's message really hit home. We read out of Ephesians 2:8-18. Their pastor, Dave, used verses 8-10 for his first point: You are Adopted. We as "orphans" can do nothing ourselves to cause someone to save us; it's a free gift from God. Verses 11-13 drive home the point that: You Have a Citizenship in Christ. We belong. He provides us security in where our real home is. Verses 14-18: He Brings You Home. Christ brings us to a home of peace, rest, and unity.
